fortunately there's other things to concern himself with so he can let that one slide. he has his own newfound freedom to consider, especially since it wasn't all that long ago that he'd been very directly encouraged to embrace it. he'd always had to be somewhat mindful of his actions before, even if it never seemed to be the case from the position of anyone less undead. if he ever went too far, too openly he could ruin everything. he had his family and his reputation to consider. he at least needed the people he worked with to respect him at the end of the day.
he's... not sure what he's doing right now. things he might regret in the morning. the place where he knows what he wants but he's not prepared to admit to himself what he wants. traejan hadn't just been running his mouth just to hear himself talk — he very deliberately wanted eridanus to retaliate in one way or another. he just hadn't realised what he was getting into on top of being in the middle of the longest dry spell he's ever experienced in his entire life. it's.. a lot.
the look in his eye and the way his stupid ears keep wanting to twitch forward are maybe subtle indications but once eridanus grabs him he realises how much he hates having to do things like breathe and have a pulse because it's far less likely that eridanus would fail to notice how there was a moment where his breath caught in his throat and his traitor pulse sped up. it takes him a moment or two to register the value of the cards he's being shown but once he does he laughs. he can't help it. ]
